ADVOCATE for Health Education
A crucial part of fulfilling our mission to make health education broadly accessible, up-to-date, effective, and sustainable is to inform policy makers about the importance and impact of health education. The 2007 Advocacy Committee has determined the following goals:
- Increase NAHEC’s organizational capacity, stature and impact by pursuing Congressionally-appropriated funding for model Member-run programs and identifying other opportunities to facilitate federal support for NAHEC and its members.
- Build relationships with current and prospective Congressional patrons who can serve as NAHEC champions
- Demonstrate value of overall advocacy efforts to NAHEC members through enhanced communication and education initiatives.
- Further establish NAHEC as a respected participant in the health education advocacy arena through involvement in discussion and activities related to key policy issues and developing opportunities facing NAHEC members and the larger community.
