Nearly 20 Years ago, organizations providing group-based health education within their communities came together to share best practices, collaborate on programs and offer relevant professional development.  After 1989, the National Association of Health Education Centers (NAHEC) was born.

In 2005, NAHEC and AAHE (American Association of Health Education) partnered to combine the NAHEC annual conference and AAHE mid-year meeting to offer a an opportunity for greater sharing between entities.

Today, the conference continues to be a joint offering of both NAHEC and AAHE and attracts organizations and individuals from around the nation
