Head and Neck Injuries

In 2001, there were 853,471 nonfatal head and neck injuries among individuals aged 15-19 in the United States; there were a total of 3,101,118 nonfatal injuries in this age group.

In 2002, the leading cause of death among adolescents 15-19 was unintentional injuries from accidents (7,137 total deaths in this age group, 51.7 percent of all deaths).
