ENGAGE. CHALLENGE. INSPIRE. 2009, is a joint conference of the National Association of Health Education Centers (NAHEC) and American Association for Health Education (AAHE).
This year’s event is co-hosted by two prominent health education providers and advocates within the state of Pennsylvania: Clarion University Health Science Education Center and the Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center.
This event receives promotional support by Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, Inc. (PSAHPERD).

Clarion University Health Science Education Center

Clarion University Health Science Education Center (HSEC) was established in May of 2002 under the direction of Dr. Nancy Falvo and Clarion University of Pennsylvania. The staff of the HSEC is comprised of individuals from various educational backgrounds who strive to help our communities make healthy lifestyle choices. The staff serves various communities within our geographical area as well as throughout the state.

Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center
York, PA
The Byrnes Health Education Center offers over 60 dynamic health education programs for students of all ages. All programs are designed to instill an appreciation of the incredible human body and to motivate students to make healthy choices. The Center, located on South George Street in York, houses five multi-media teaching theaters where interactive learning takes place. Additionally, health education programs are taught outside the Center’s walls through interactive outreach programs for schools and worksite wellness initiatives.
Over 650,000 students from across Central PA and Northern MD have visited the Byrnes HEC since it opened in 1995.

Established in 1989, the National Association of Health Education Centers (NAHEC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting a national network of organizations that provide health education programs. Through this network, over 3.7 million children and adults receive health education that empowers them to actively participate in creating healthier communities.
